Fringe for Peyote Amulet Necklace
Whew! What a job. I charted out the fringe pattern for the Peyote Amulet necklace posted yesterday. I was learning a new program at the same time, or rather, relearning it. (Why is it that programmers have to change every stinkin' little thing when they upgrade something???) So it took me several hours. Just wanted you to know that. Peyote Amulet Necklace
I created this little peyote amulet necklace to use as a project for a class.
The pattern chart is for the bag part only, done in tubular peyote with size 11 Japanese seed beads.
I used the same chart for the back as I did for the front. For now, you're on your own for making the fringe and strap.

Mohair Lace Scarf
This is a pattern that we gave out free in my shop, the House of Needlecraft (now out of business). It was our most popular free pattern, and is one of my all time favorite lace stitch patterns. Though it was written for mohair, I've found this pattern works well with ANY yarn from worsted weight to bulky. I've used sport and even fingering weight too by doubling the strands. So it's pretty versatile. It knits up quickly, and makes a great gift item.
Materials: 200 yards Mohair, or 200 yards of any bulky weight yarn. Model was made using 1 strand of N.Y. Yarns Fluff Print in Evening Blue and 1 strand of Bernat Baby Soft in Bongo Blue.
Tools: Size 11, 13, or 15 needles
Gauge: Not really important.
Finished size: About 7 to 8 inches wide and 5 to 6 feet long.
Cast on 21 or 25 sts.
Rows 1 and 2: Knit 2 rows.
Row 3: K2, YO, K2tog. Repeat across ending with K1.
Repeat row 3 to desired length, knit 2 rows. Bind off. Weave in ends.
Enjoy!

Happiness Socks
I have written my very first sock pattern. I call them the Happiness Socks because they made me so happy while I was knitting them. I knit these socks for a photo contest that is being held during the Summer of Socks knit along. I hauled these socks up into the north Idaho mountains in search of the perfect 'Vacation Sock' photo. I had a blast doing it too. I won't know until September if my photo has won or not.
In the meantime, I decided to write up the pattern so I could share it with everyone.
These socks are knit on 2 circular needles. If you do not knit in this method, than feel free to adjust accordingly. After all, a pattern is really just a suggestion.

Rolled Brim Hat
This is a really easy pattern using worsted weight yarn that I use to teach beginning knitters. You learn how to cast on, knit, and purl, but no binding off, though if you wanted to bind off, then thread a yarn in the edge stitches to gather the top, you certainly can. Techniques used are stockinette stitch, K2tog decrease, and ribbing. I used 2 skeins of Noro Kureyon for the sample.
