Aran Baby Cardigan and Links

I have finished fixing ALL the broken links to my patterns. I've put Just Peachy on my Google Drive (which I forgot I even had). I've updated the link on the Just Peachy page too.

I also have updated links to a baby aran cardigan pattern that was published by McCalls (remember them?) back in the 70's. I love this pattern and have made many of these little sweaters for gifts.

A few years ago or so I went to a great deal of effort to find the copyright holder to this pattern and it's accompanying hat. I found them-in Japan. McCall's pattern department had been sold a couple times or so and I just followed the trail until I got to the current owner. They gave me ownership of the copyrights for the pattern, which I greatly appreciate.

I've had a post on my regular blog, Beadknitter Gallery, linking to this pattern for quite some time, but decided I need to put it here too, since I've made it available, for free, to everyone. If you want to knit this lovely little sweater:

Here's the link ---->  Aran Baby Cardigan

Here is the link to ----> The Matching Bonnet

I do not have a pic of the bonnet because I don't make it. I don't really like it, to be honest.

Hopefully, I won't have anymore problems with downloading these patterns.

Just Peachy Ornament Cover

I got a request to teach a class on how to make a beaded Christmas ornament cover with netting stitch. Unfortunately, the boss was unwilling to order in books with an appropriate pattern in them for me to use as a teaching aid. So I came up with this pattern.

Every effort has been made to make sure there are no errors in this pattern, but even still there might be some. Please let me know if there are by posting a comment here.

Happy beading!

Fringe for Peyote Amulet Necklace

Whew! What a job. I charted out the fringe pattern for the Peyote Amulet necklace posted yesterday. I was learning a new program at the same time, or rather, relearning it. (Why is it that programmers have to change every stinkin' little thing when they upgrade something???) So it took me several hours. Just wanted you to know that. Click on the pics for a larger version.

Peyote Amulet Necklace

I created this little peyote amulet necklace to use as a project for a class.

The pattern chart is for the bag part only, done in tubular peyote with size 11 Japanese seed beads.

I used the same chart for the back as I did for the front. For now, you're on your own for making the fringe and strap.

Edited to add: I've made a chart for the fringe. It's here.

2-Bead Netting Tutorial

I've had quite a few people ask me how to do 2-bead netting. So here's a tut. I'm not claiming to have invented this. Was just wondering what would happen if I left one bead out of the 3-bead netting.

Materials:
Two colors of size 11 seed beads (A-black and B-gold).
Beading needle
Nymo size D
String 6 beads as follows:

1A, 1B, 1A, 1B, 1A, 1B

Tie into a circle. Put needle through first A bead strung.

Pick up 1B and 1A (make sure to always string them on in this order), skip next
B and put needle through next A already strung. Repeat until desired length.

Basically your putting the needle through the A beads around and around. Always
put through the A bead immediately after the B bead you're skipping. That's all
there is to it.
